New for 2021, Merida return with their eSpresso 300EQ SE hybrid Electric Bike, finished in a lovely Silk Green.
Presented in a Crossbar semi-integrated frame & battery variant, the eSpresso 300EQ SE is perhaps something for the men, or those who prefer a more direct riding stance as opposed to the comfort geometry you'd find on the City Step Through model.

Shimano Steps E5000 Powered
The heart of the eSpresso City 300 lies with it's Shimano Steps E5000 crank driven motor. Offering 40Nm torque with easilty switchable power assist modes, the E5000 is Shimano's lightest motor to date at only 2.5KG, and with virtually silent, seamless power delivery, it would seem this motor is perfectly suited. Ready for all weather conditions, so you're never left high & dry.
Powering the motor, you'll find a 418Wh Shimano E8014 battery, neatly situated on the seat tube for a balanced centre of gravity. Capable of up to 40 miles from a full charge.
Prolite 66 Triple Butted Aluminum
Our proven high-end aluminium (6066) is extremely light and durable. Using triple butted wall thicknesses and hydroforming technology, we can tune the aluminium tubes to give the best possible stiffness to weight ratio.
HFS – Hydro Forming System
Tubes are inserted into negative moulds and a hot emulsion of water and oil is forced through at pressure, enabling them to be formed into complex shapes.
Di2 Ready
Bikes/frames with the symbol ‘Di2 Ready’ are prepared for the installation of Di2 technology with battery mounting in the seat post or within the fork steerer.
Internal Cable Routing
Cables are routed through the frame, entering and exiting through smooth sockets. The bike looks neat, whilst the cables are protected from moisture and dirt.
Casting Motor Bracket
Sophisticated shape only possible due to casting technology, creating an integrated appearance as well as an extremely strong connection between the E-bike motor and frame for improved performance and reliability.

ABUS Integrated Security
Attached to the rear of the frame, Merida have included an Abus 5650 LH-3 wheel lock, so no more lugging a heavy cable lock about.
F-Mount
'F-Mount’ equipped bikes have integrated fittings for mud guards (some bikes require model specific mud guards), making fitting fast and simple.
C-Mount
‘C-Mount’ equipped bikes have the fixing points for a rear rack already integrated (some bikes require model specific rear rack), making fitting fast, simple and reliable.
X-Taper Headtube

Smart Entry
Cables, housings and brake hoses are clamped under tension to prevent rattling when the trails or roads get rough. All inlets are completely interchangeable to deal with Di2, hydraulic hoses, brake cable and gear cable housings etc.
Smooth Welding
Sometimes called ‘double pass welding’, a second pass over the weld gives a clean organic look to the frame. At first glance, you will be convinced it is carbon.
