Schwalbe Super Moto X, 700c wheels offer relatively low rolling resistance on roast can grip looser tracks with ease should you follow the less beaten path. The Suntour Mobie 45 forks are stiffer and have an 80mm travel with the heavier rider in mind, or perhaps for heavier loads on longer runs.Gearing is with the 11 speed Shimano SLX M7000 system, with ratios moving from 11 teeth to 46, allowing for good speeds downhill and flattening out those bigger climbs even without using too much power from the Bosch crank motor.Braking is with Shimano M365 hydraulic brakes attached to big 180mm rotors. These are low maintenance and will last you many good miles on the road without needing the pads replacing.
Bosch Performance CX motor and Intuvia display
The 24.5kg hybrid mountain bike will get you where you want to go but its Bosch Performance CX crank motor will make it happen with style. Rated at 250W it can give out 500W at peak power. While this is limited to 25km/h by law, it does mean it provides piles of torque on demand, perhaps when you need to accelerate out of trouble or get up a nasty incline.
The motor is controlled through the Intuvia display that shows four power assist settings ranging from Turbo to Eco according to your needs. These are easily controlled with your finger or thumb while you put your mind to the other things on your ride. The Intuvia display shows a range of other things you’ll need to know such as the amount of battery left, your speed and distance travelled – all easily accessed with a quick click.
These systems are supported with the 500Wh battery pack – the biggest in the Bosch range – that can realistically get you 70 miles depending on your size and how much power you want out of the motor.
