Men’s vs women’s SDURO Cross 9.0
The only difference between this bike and its male oriented brother is the geometry. With the crossbar joining the seat post a little lower than the men’s bike, it also has a slightly more upright seating position.
Key features for 2018
The ladies SDURO Cross 9.0 electric mountain bike has an eleven-speed, Shimano XT M8000 Shadow 11 drivetrain with a 11-46 tooth cassette. The wide range of gears available means that you can power along on the flat or take on even the gnarliest of hills without breaking too much of a sweat – though do remember the less you ask of the battery the longer it will be there for you!
80mm travel, SR Suntour Mobie 45 LO with lockouts will iron out most of the bumps you encounter on the trails, and may even keep you on your bike when you hit a big pothole in town! The wheels are 27.5 inch, which are becoming a firm favourite for cross country and off-road bikes. Its Schwalbe Super Moto tyres have a low rolling resistance for the road yet are nice and grippy on the paths and tracks you might explore.
Speed control on the women’s SDURO Cross 9.0 is with Maguro MT4 hydraulic brakes mounted on 180mm rotors. These are light but powerful – and low maintenance too.
Thinking of trekking or commuting?
The SDURO Cross 9.0 ladies electric mountain bike is the lightweight version of the Trekking 9.0. The Trekking series come with panniers, mudguards and lights that are wired into the battery. If you are thinking of year round commuting or longer treks then that machine might be the better bet.
Bosch CX and Intuvia eBike power system
The 250 Watt Bosch CX crank motor peaks at 75Nm, kicking like a mule when you need that extra boost. The 500Wh battery on the lowest power setting should give you around 60-80 miles of conservative riding as you need. The Bosch CX motor is complemented by the Intuvia control and power system that is smaller yet provides just a few parameters for a quick look as you enjoy your day in the saddle.
