The Haibike SDURO Trekking 5.0 2018 Ladies Electric Trekking Bike is happier on the roads as a trekking or commuting bike, though will also ride canal or railway paths with some comfort. Brilliant as a road tourer, it isn’t the sort of bike you go down a mountainside on – unless it is paved!
Men’s vs Ladies SDURO Trekking 5.0
In terms of the gadgets and mechanisms on this machine, it is identical in every way to the men’s bike. Its frame shape differs with the crossbar meeting the seat post 2 inches or so lower than the men’s version. You will also find a slightly more upright seating position on this bike.
Features
Designed for eating up the road miles, the SDURO Trekking 5.0 Ladies e-bike can do a significant range if ridden economically. While Haibike will claim you can do 140 miles on a charge, with you putting a bit of effort into the climbs you can manage 100 miles per trip with the Bosch 500 Watt – hour battery.
To aid this the bike has a nine speed, 11-40t drivetrain that on the smallest cog will see you go nice and quick on the flat but on the biggest ring, be able to handle quite a hill without breaking too much of a sweat.
For stopping you have Shimano M315 hydraulic brakes on a 180mm front rotor and a 160mm rear rotor. These brakes are very low maintenance too.
To help iron out the road and path bumps, the Trekking 5.0 has Suntour NEX, 63mm travel forks. On the road itself you have Michelin Protek 700x38c tyres that will grip the road well but won’t be averse to a bit of mud on a lighter path.
Bosch CX and Intuvia eBike power system
The 250 Watt Bosch CX crank motor peaks at 75Nm, kicking like a mule when you need that extra boost. The 500Wh battery on the lowest power setting should give you around 100 miles of mixed riding as you need. The Bosch CX motor is complemented by the Intuvia control and power system that is smaller yet provides just a few parameters for a quick look as you enjoy your day in the saddle.
