Made by the designers of the successful Greenedge CS2, this budget electric bike is exclusive to E-Bikes Direct. With a good range and ample power for even the toughest of hilly streets, the Basis Beacon E-MTB is just the machine for someone who is after affordable quality.

What do you want in an electric mountain bike? Good, solid components that will let you as the principle energy source get over hills and rough ground? A solid, reliable hub motor to take the sweat out of riding? Built exclusively for E-Bikes Direct, the Basis E-MTB Electric Mountain Bike has all these yet won’t cause a big hole in your budget.

Let’s look at its components. The lightweight, alloy step over mountain bike frame (20kg) is equipped with central mounted 36V 8.8Ah or 14ah lithium battery. This puts the weight low down and adds to the maneuverability and riding comfort.

Tektro is one of the leading brands of bike disc brakes, and the MD-M280 disc brakes are no exception to their reputation for light yet solid stoppers.

The 7-speed drivetrain is made by Shimano. Despite electric bikes’ reputation of being ‘cheater bikes’, you are very much the primary power source in moving it about - with a good choice of ratios you should be able to tackle most hills and light tracks.

Its LED display shows you just what you need as you flick between the 3 riding speed settings. This also comes with a ‘walk-assist’ button whereby there is no need to pedal that is limited to 6km (4 mph) in line with EU law for 'on road use'. For countries (eg: Jersey) where limitation of the throttle is not needed please contact us for details.

The Basis E-MTB has 100mm travel front suspension with a lockout for different terrains. It also has a comfort seat and side stand.

Trading since 2005, E-bikes Direct have a history of selling high quality yet affordable electric bikes. This is the newest and we think one of the best electric mountain bike we have built to date!
