Haibike SD HardSeven Life 1.0 Lowstandover 2020 Trapeze Electric Mountain Bike

An entry-level machine in the HardSeven Life series, the Haibike SDURO HardSeven Life 1.0 LSO (Lowstandover) is a machine that after a traditional MTB will blow your socks off as soon as you pull away for the first time. A fun, agile e-bike, it is as happy off-road as it is on. Considering so much of the UK’s byways and tracks are connected by road, this could be all you need for heading out to the sticks from home.

HardSeven range

Built around the 27.5 inch wheelbase, the HardSeven is a hardtail eMTB that is happy on the road, agile enough for downhill trails yet great for wandering the backwoods and exploring the countryside that few others can without the extra push of that motor!

HardSeven Life series

Built around a LSO (Lowstandover) frame with a lower crossbar for easy mounting, the geometry of the HardSeven Life series of machines is designed for comfort even on longer rides without compromising on performance or weight. These aren’t about riding with a skirt on, but more for comfort over distances that you just wouldn’t on a man’s HardSeven machine.

Yamaha PW-SE motor and 400Wh battery

The 250W Yamaha PW-SE motor has seen millions of miles of use on e-bikes around the world. It is reliable and solid, offering up to 70Nm of torque to get you up and running at speed. The performance curve allows for a smooth start, and it will get you to the 15.5mph speed limit of the motor nice and quick.

A 400Wh battery is mounted on the lower frame for good weight distribution, and offers a comfortable range of around 40 miles. If you’re a traditional MTB rider this is a giant leap from your usual distances, taking you farther and harder than you usually ride.

The control system is simple and should have you focusing on the trail ahead rather than worrying about too many parameters as you ride.

      A 9-speed, Shimano Altus M2000 drivetrain that runs over an 11-36 tooth rear cog, the SDURO HardSeven Life 1.0 will flatten out those inclines even when being economical with the battery. Stopping power comes from the Tektro M276 aluminium disc brakes on 180mm rotors that won’t get too hot even on those bigger descents.

      27.5”, XLC MountainX tyres are good on track and road alike, while the SR Suntour XCM DS steel sprung forks with 100mm travel will smooth out those lumps and bumps.
