Haibike SD HardSeven 1.5 2020 Electric Mountain Bike
So you’ve got the buzz for navigating your way around the countryside on a bike, yet can’t always finish those hills? The SDURO HardSeven 1.5 is probably the machine for you. Without hammering the bank account it has a reliable and well tested Yamaha PW-SE motor to gently start you on your way and get you up to the optimum cruising speed of 15mph.
What’s the difference between the HardSeven 1.0 and 1.5?
The HardSeven 1.5 has Schwalbe Smart Sam Active tyres that will grip the trail better than the tyres on the 1.0. It also has a Yamaha in-tube battery for better weight distribution.
The biggest difference here is that you have more colours to choose from. The HardSeven 1.5 is mainly blue with orange and grey, while the almost equally specced 1.0 is grey, white and yellow. The price isn’t very different.
When you move to the 5.0 and 8.0 you will get better components all around and pay a little extra for them.
Yamaha PW-SE motor and 400Wh battery
The 250W Yamaha PW-SE motor has seen millions of miles of use on e-bikes around the world. It is reliable and solid, offering up to 70Nm of torque to get you up and running at speed. The performance curve allows for a smooth start, and it will get you to the 15.5mph speed limit of the motor nice and quick.
A 400Wh battery is mounted in the lower frame for good weight distribution, and offers a comfortable range of around 40 miles. If you’re a traditional MTB rider this is a giant leap from your usual distances, taking you farther and harder than you usually ride.
The control system is simple and should have you focusing on the trail ahead rather than worrying about too many parameters as you ride.
