Diamondback was the leading name in BMX and this machine harks back to the days when the name was a byword for lightweight, fun off road riding.

Uphill as fast as down?

The designers claim this electric bike can go uphill as fast as it can down. With its high quality shock, forks and gearing we bet you can get downhill a lot faster!

The baseline eMTB of the Ranger series, the 1.0 has the same Shimano XT E8000 250W motor as its bigger brothers that will kick as hard back as you give it through the pedals.

Other than the electronics, the Ranger 1.0 has some great specs that will see you ride comfortably and quickly over whatever terrain you confront. The rear, Shimano XT E8000 shock has a whopping 140mm of travel and a lockout for the times when speed is as important as comfort. At the front the ROCKSHOX Sektor Silver TK 27+ also have 140mm of travel for fast riding even over the gnarliest of jumps and bumps.

Shimano SLX 11-speed gears run over an 11-42t cassette that gives a great range of gears from fast flats to big hills. For controlling your speed, the SHIMANO M-315  hydraulic brakes use 180mm rotors for good speed control in almost any conditions.

Both 27.5” wheels have 2.8” wide WTB Ranger tyres for gripping loose and wet mud as you blast along the trails. 

All in, the DiamondBack Ranger 1.0 27.5 FS eMTB will do uphills as aggressively as you ride downhill – that could well mean that you charge downhill at speeds above the motor cutout yet get back to the top with only the sweat you broke at full pelt the other way…

Shimano XT E8000 motor and 500Wh battery

For this edition of Ranger bikes, Diamondback have fit the 250W Shimano XT E8000 motor and huge 500 Watt hour battery. Together this means the crank motor will kick like a mule when you ask it to and keep on kicking as you charge along the flat or uphill sections.

Controlling the system is with the Shimano display that sits on the left handlebar and shows you just the parameters you need. The buttons are designed to be hard wearing and controllable even in gloves, and the power system can be moved between settings with just a few clicks.
